How is your sex life? Want to give it a boost? How about heightened arousal, better communication with your partner, more adventurous sex, and more frequent sex? Stay tuned. In this new series, available only on my website, we are going to explore the real benefits of reading romance novels. First, a bit about the industry of romance novels.

Globally, the romance novel industry is a massive, high-growth sector of the publishing market, with estimated annual revenues exceeding $1.44 billion with consistent growth of the past several years.

It is frequently ranked as the highest-earning genre of fiction, often outselling mystery, science fiction, and fantasy combined. To that I say, “Well done, us!” Romance novels account for roughly 30-35% of all fiction sales annually. In the US, they make up approximately 18% of the total adult fiction market.

While e-books account for approximately 60% of total romance sales, print is making a comeback. Social media platforms have significantly boosted sales. Indie-published romance titles make up 65%of the Amazon top 100 Romance List.

Romance readers read from 3-8 books per month, and romance bookstores are experiencing a revival with high demand for physical copies. While romance readers are predominantly women, the audience is diversifying.
