My writing blends romance with complex, real-world events.
This combination deepens the stakes and tension. Real-world events raise tangible consequences, making romantic choices feel weightier and more urgent. It adds realism and credibility to the story along with factual or plausible context which grounds emotional arcs, so relationships resonate against believable pressures, enriching thematic complexity.
Combining genres lets me explore love alongside social, political, and moral questions, creating layered meaning. It shapes the tone and pacing, balancing intimate scenes with broader events that require careful rhythm including moments of quiet emotional intimacy that alternate with faster, plot-driven sequences.
It complicates character development. Characters must respond to both personal desires and external forces, revealing deeper motivations and growth. Their sacrifices and choices are consequential. Characters face moral dilemmas which forces them to grow and change.
The combined genres balance and broaden audience appeal. Readers who enjoy character-driven emotional relationships and those who prefer topical or issue-driven fiction can both engage. My writing is research and accuracy driven. Real-world, as well as historical, elements require credible detail and sensitivity to avoid misrepresentation.
Why I Write
At its core, my writing rests on a simple philosophy—I write the books I would like to read. For me, that means using real world events and speculative fiction to craft a new version of the contemporary love story—real people, real world, real events, real stakes, real outcomes. I use romance as a vehicle to unpack complex world problems, proving that love stories can be both an unforgettable escape and a mirror to reality. Romance enriches the story by creating a ‘pressure cooker’ subplot.
When you read my stories, you aren’t just entering a new world—you’re stepping into a high-stakes mirror of our own. I explore self-discovery, childhood trauma, PTSD, the cost and risks of doing good, women’s rights, foreign financial and political interference, money laundering, war crimes, humanitarian displacement, first contact, death, dying and compassion and other existential threats to humans and Earth. Readers gain insight into various aspects of love, life and sex.
I write with women at the centre; fully rounded protagonists who are strong without being invulnerable, whose fears and flaws are honest parts of their lives. My FMCs confront emotional and physical challenges and draw on inner courage, resilience, and realistic physiological responses to transform adversity into growth. Their strength is earned, human, and hard-won.
I’ve always believed that romance is one of the most powerful lenses through which we can explore the human condition. At its heart, a love story demands vulnerability, trust, and choice. It forces characters to decide what they value, what they are willing to risk, and who they become when everything else falls away.
By bringing together real-world events and speculative elements, I write a new version of the contemporary love story—grounded in real stakes, real outcomes, and real humanity. It gives me a canvas to untangle complex world problems, ethics, freedom, and power without pulling any punches.
Where The Real World and Romance Meet
The magic happens at the collision point, when sweeping, deeply personal relationships are tested against far-reaching, world-altering consequences. The story becomes more than just an escape—it becomes a conversation.
I write because love doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It survives, resists, and reshapes the worlds we build.

The story explores the effects of early childhood trauma on adult relationships.

Tells the story of Liv, a traditional healer and shieldmaiden and Einarr, a successful ship commander and trader. The story is set in the old Norse village of Kauprangr in 1000 A.D. during the Viking era of exploration. Their initial meeting requires all of Liv’s skills as a healer but remains a mystery to Einarr who only recalls her scent and voice. Their chance reacquaintance, possibly under the influence of Skuld, a goddess of fate, is a mix of awkward curiosity, gratitude and intense passion. Can their passionate bond survive the challenges of an incredible journey, threats from fire, raiders, ice, adventure, Skraelings and Liv’s role as an Eir-vör?

Tells the story of two international war correspondents, Annika from Sweden and Declan from Northern Ireland, who cross paths and fall in love in some of the world’s worst conflict zones. Unscheduled travel to remote areas and high-risk assignments is part of the work they both love. They are the unsung champions of humanitarian displacement who actively call out the perpetrators of war crimes – crimes against humanity. How can they sustain and nurture their relationship and build a life together if they are constantly in the line of fire? In separate countries? The story explores cultural differences and PTSD.
Primordial: The Battle for Humanity
When an engineered interstellar object arrives near Earth and ancient evidence suggests alien visitors have been harvesting humanity for millennia; an astrobiologist and a space engineer must help determine whether first contact is humanity’s salvation—or the beginning of its extinction. Sydney an astrobiologist meets Alex a space engineer at a SETI symposium just as an alien interstellar spacecraft’s approach to earth is detected and publicly announced. The survival of Earth and more importantly, humanity, is at stake. Earth is abandoned by the billionaire, tech and science elite but get help from an unsuspecting source. Their combined knowledge advises the ‘experts’. Can their growing attraction and deepening relationship survive the alien threat? Can Earth?

Is the story of Geneva, a cultural journalist who writes about a wide variety of topics and Dermot, a former SAS and member of The Increment/E-Squadron now working for a private security company. They meet over dinner in Florence, Italy while he is doing reconnaissance for a high-profile client. Their relationship deepens quickly because Geneva is everything he wants in a romantic partner, independence, steadfast trust, fidelity and emotional resilience. The warp speed and unspoken commitment is characteristic of Special Ops men. Dermot’s unwavering loyalty and protection, extreme problem-solving and resourcefulness, authenticity and engagement, emotional resilience and directness were refreshing and endearing. A celebrity abduction puts Geneva inadvertently in the crosshairs of a global crime syndicate. She sends one message. An elite special-ops team races into a high-stakes and dangerous rescue mission while uncovering a dangerous conspiracy.
Love in the Land of Ériu
Tells the story of Aoife (EE-fa) a beautiful and spirited Irish woman who was captured from Ériu (Ireland) during a Viking raid in the 10th century. As a high-status woman, she would be held for ransom, but there was no one to pay? Certainly not her brothers. If she was sold into slavery, the seller and buyer would rue the day. If she was forced to become a concubine or wife to her captor—beidht ifreann le híoc ‘there would be hell to pay.’ She was bound, guarded and taken aboard the Viking ship bound for who knows where. Chaos ensued. Did Eiríkr finally meet his match? The story is set in Dublin 945 A.D. when it was the hub of the northern slave trade.
Terra Obscura
Tells the story of the re-eruption of the Yellowstone super volcano. Historically, the Huckleberry Ridge eruption, 2.1 million years ago was the largest, followed by the Mesa Falls eruption, 1.3 million years ago, the Lava Creek eruption ~640,000 years ago that formed the current Yellowstone Caldera, and the most recent, 70,000 years ago. A seismologist and rescue and recovery specialist are witness to a world devastated by catastrophe. The eruption sends a blanket of sulfur and soot into the stratosphere, turning noon into a dim copper dusk and collapsing harvest from the Midwest to the Steppes. Global temperatures plunge, airlines halt, economies fold, and the fragile agreements that kept nations from snapping, fray under the strain of mass migration and resource panic.
